All NACCTFO sessions are located at the Marriott Wardman Park.  A block of rooms is being held from March 3 - 9. Room rate is $206 for single/double and $236 for triple/quad occupancy.  Reservations can be made by calling the Marriott at 800-228-9290 or 202-328-2000 (be sure to mention "NACCTFO") or by clicking the hotel link.  Reservations must be made by February 9th to guarantee the group rate!

Friday, March 5th
Morning Session: 8:45 am - 11:30 am National Freedom of Information - The basic requirements of access laws and the rationale for openness in democratic theory; discussion regarding governmental information access and countervailing interests such as privacy or fiduciary secrecy.
Luncheon

Afternoon Session: 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm Understanding the Federal Legislative Process - Offsite tour, presentation and discussion at the the US Capitol. Please note: You will be required to present a valid photo ID. Guests are welcome to attend but must remain with the group throughout the tour, presentation and discussion. Attendance is limited; if you are planning to bring a guest, email info@nacctfo.org.  


Saturday, March 6th
Morning Session: 9:00 am - 11:30 am Collateralization of Public Fund Deposits - Discussion of collateralization and how it can work for county government as a second line of defense when investing public fund deposits. 
Luncheon:  Business/Board of Directors Meeting
Afternoon Session: 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm Human Resources: Employment Systems - Learn about how federal, state and local laws/policies govern how county offices can hire and terminate employees. Survey the existing systems and future trends, discuss how they are alike and how they differ.
